G-Star - Short lead-time shop fit
Ensuring the G-Star shines at Westfield Stratford
Triplar was selected by a G-Star franchisee in 2011 to manage the fit-out of a new store in Westfield Stratford City, the biggest indoor shopping centre in Europe.
The 130 sq m store had to be completed within a tight timescale, as delays in the planning stages meant Triplar had just four weeks on site. Yet even with a short lead time and under pressure, Triplar was committed to creating a great looking store that would be delivered both on budget and on time.
Once the design paperwork had been approved, the project was fast-tracked and the Triplar team immediately set about tackling the interior, undertaking decoration and flooring. Lighting was fitted, as well as a partition wall to the rear of the sales wall to create an area that would house office space and a fire exit – space which was also used to house a small amount of racking. Changing rooms were also created using partition walls.
The short lead time meant ventilation equipment could not be manufactured in time. Undeterred, the Triplar team built relevant housings and installed the equipment outside of opening hours once the store had opened.
G-Star contractors supplied furniture and each section was fitted quickly and flawlessly. G-Star had also recommended a preferred supplier for graphics and signage and Triplar worked closely with the company to ensure both were manufactured and installed ahead of the centre’s high-profile opening.
Shamim Hyder is a director of G-Star franchisee Jeans West. He said: "This project ran very late in the concept planning stage and Triplar only had four weeks to build and open the store. A lot of people were doubtful it could be achieved in this time scale.
“We were assured by Triplar that they could deliver the store on time. Having worked with them in the past we had complete confidence in their planning and execution of this complex project. Completed on a tight deadline, we are very happy with the high standard of finish in-store."
MD Tim Rodwell said: “With tight deadlines there can be more room for error and unless a project is handled professionally and efficiently, it can very often be delayed. I am pleased and proud that we met every deadline and were able to give the G-Star franchisee exactly what they wanted in their store fit.”
