Reducing downtime for the UK’s biggest outdoor retailer

Extensive flood or fire damage can be devastating to any retail store. Aside from the cost of losing thousands of pounds worth of damaged stock, the retailer is faced with the loss of valuable revenue if the shop is forced to close.

That is of course unless Triplar’s shop fitting team is on site. Asked to complete a comprehensive re-fit programme at longstanding client Millets’ flood-damaged Northampton store, the team turned the project around in just a week.

The three-floor 5,000 sq ft needed completely gutting and rebuilding due to the water damage and Triplar set about replacing all interior walls, ceilings and floors and decorating all of them to follow Millet’s ‘Blue Sky’ design concept. As well as completing structural changes to the store and joinery, the team had to install all new air conditioning, fire and electrical systems, as well as re-plumbing the store.

Triplar’s UK production facility also produced all the furniture for the store, which included cash counters, free standing display units and racking. The store was finished through the addition of new signage.

Millets is owned by Blacks Leisure Group, which also operates Blacks stores. Triplar has completed over 100 stores for the outdoor equipment and clothing retailer in the past 12 years.
